Upstairs oppisite the Crown Plaza in Phillip St. With the parking station right next door. I had dinner there before heading onto the Laugh Garage (which is just a few shops away) for a night of comedy. Nicely spaced and not cramped like alot of teppanyaki style restaurants. The food was the usual fare but fresh and well prepared. Fast service and skilled chefs (no food landed on anyone , haha)Recommended. |

I recently had a dinner party of 12 at this restaurant, I was very embarassed and shock when we arrived at the restaurant to find it alot smaller than shown on the webb site, the walls were dirty and full of black marks, the carpet was dirty and black, the tiled floor was slippery & the bar was old, dated, clutter with papers books etc... We were left standing for 1/2 hr before the waitress came to our group and make enquiry whether everyone in the party have arrived. She then lead us to a long table (but not long enough) so my guess had to move a small table next to join onto our long one. A couple of chairs had still have their sale bar code hanging of it. Our booking was for 7.30pm but we didn't get to sit at the BBQ table till after 9.00pm at such time we were served salad (old - brown on edges of salad) and miso soup. The "Chef" came to our table and start cleaning the BBQ hot plate and remove all our dirty dishes (which he put them in a bucket next to where he stand - in front of my feet!). Chef then proceed to start cooking our food without any introduction. When he came to cook the "prawns", he threw away the prawn heads without consulting. (In all other Teppan Yaki - Chef cooks the prawn heads as expected.) We were only given a chance to catch raw eggs & fried rice - nothing else. I was very DISAPPOINTED as this is NOT the first time I had "Teppan Yaki".
When I phone Tem Ichi on Monday to make a complaint, I spoked to the waitress, the manager & its owner whom (in their broken English) told me that I was not there, they have no record of my booking, but yet when I repeated the address that was on the receipt that I kept that night -they confirm the address but still can not find my booking for that night.
Overall - this has been an horrible, disappointing and frustrating experience. I will be bring this matter to the necessary authority & will not be comming back to this restaurant again!!!!!
