This venue was previously Snooty's, now Thoedores (ed now Madison's). But thankfully they've kept the wonderful interior the same. The place is set up like an English pub and has a cosy and warm feel. It's lovely to come into a roaring fireplace in these colder months.

The wine list is much better than the Chardonnay heavy list the previous management had and there is a fine selection of cocktails and Boutique beers.

The menu is varied and they have kept the special nights that the Snooty had (ie $10 pasta on Weds). Presentation is great and the portions satisfy even the hungriest of patrons. The value is outstanding, especially given the quality of the food.

Worth the trip to Richmond, thankfully I live local.

Theodore's has had another change. It has gone from a British/Irish style pub to an Italian restaurant and it hasn't worked. It now looks like an pub with some inappropriate Italian prints on the wall. It's a bit of a mish-mash but may be in the midst of gradual change. It has been renamed Madison's

Service is still good but the menu has taken a turn for the worse. My partner's entre of BBQ octopus consisted of three tiny pieces and some garnish while my chicken risotto was both generously sized & tasty. We were both disappointed with the mains, I had a rack of lamb with creamy frangelico sauce, while my partner had kangaroo fillet mingon. Both dishes sounded impressive and my lamb was cooked perfectly but tasted bland, the frangelico sauce tasted like a instant gravy mix. My partners dish was dry and covered in mushroom puree. The portion sizes were adequate but I was very disappointed in the taste of the food.

The wine list that had improved since the days of The Snooty Fox has also nose dived. The wine list is very limited, but to their credit every item is available by the glass.

Sadly, I have to say we left very disappointed and will probably not return under this management.

Shame really.
