This is a review for the Windsor Black Stump.

Food - I ordered a filet, medium. It was the only decent thing about the meal, which is good, considering it's a steak house. Meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and served hot. Actually, the sauteed mushrooms weren't half-bad (although the server forgot them and they came 10 minutes after the rest of my food because I reminded her)

From there it went downhill. Corn on the cob was mushy, soggy, nasty mess that was already getting cold by the time it made it to the table. Use fresh corn, people - please! Chips were a soggy mess. I thought deep frying them in oil was suppose to make them slighly crispy - not sooo. Maybe they got confused and dumped them into boiling water...

Service - It's hard to screw up a coke and a hot tea, but getting refills was like pulling teeth. As said above, server forgot the mushrooms and only brought them after being reminded. After we finished eating, we were left for 10 minutes before we gave up and walked to the register.

OVERALL - If you are going for a steak, go somewhere else. Yeah, the steak is good - but go support a little restaurant that will charge you the same amount but give you better sides and better service.

What stands out about this Black Stump restaurant is the excellent level of customer service.

The Black Stump is great when you've had a long and/or bad day and couldn't be bothered to cook. The discount vouchers on supermarket reciepts make it good value.

Staff are always friendly here. As mentioned earlier the customer service is excellent. On one ocassion we turned up half an hour before they closed & were still made to feel very welcome & our meal was not rushed at all.

Being a steakhouse these guys know how to cook a deccent steak. An added bonus is the reccent addition of CAAB to the menu. Servings are very generous & I've never had a bad meal here. I don't think I've ever manged to get past an entree & main....

The wine list isn't flash, but it's working with the limitations of being part of a restaurant chain. Once again a full bar & cocktails compensate.

I wouldn't come here for a romantic evening, but for a satisfying meal and great service The Black Stump get my thumbs up.
