We went to Mumtaz Mahal in caringbah for dinner in January 05 - there were 10 of us.

The paneer pakora was fantastic for entrees, and all of the usual entrees were available.

All curries were available in mild, medium or hot.

My grandmother who has a sensitive stomach/tastebuds was even able to dine here, having a mild mango chicken and eating all of it!!

I personally had Chicken Mumtaz (Butter Chicken). I ordered it hot, and it was by far the hottest dish on the table. We also ordered a hot beef bombay, and it was disappointingly medium. The mild beef vindaloo was halfway between the beef bombay and butter chicken and was the second most spicy dish on the table. All curries were reasonably priced at around $15AU per dish, served with rice.

BYO wine.

Service was pretty good. Parking no worries.

Highly recommended.

I wonder if it is a disservice that Mumtaz deliver to a fairly wide area (as far as Cronulla). We get mostly home delivery, and the food is delicious - and spicy to order (mild, medium, hot and very hot).

When we have dined in, it has always been a pleasant experience with a wonderful ambience to go with the well-prepared food.

I can't go past the mushroom entree (forget the name, sorry) and the naan bread is pretty good.

Indeed, highly recommend.
