This is by far the greatest institution on the face of the earth. If I could afford it I would buy a unit next door so I could go everyday.

Lowenbrau is a german / austrian style restaurant which has your normal seating outside and "galley style" seating downstairs. They have a om-pa-pa band, games for the patrons and the best schnitzel and beer I have ever had.

I like this place so much that the band know me by name now! HAHA..

If you have not been, get together as many friends as possible. Call vanessa and make a booking and go drink to your hearts content. Its one of the best nights out you can have in sydney.

we spent 20+ per person and we don't feel that we got what we paid for.

service was hardly impressive. Loud and quite rude. I sometimes feel like i'm being ignored.

we were salivating when the platter arrived. However it was a disappoinment.

Food was ALRIGHT. ordered their platters that came with sauerkrat( german pickle/preserves) which i enjoyed, few types of sausages that were very mediocore there was also a pig knuckles which i wasn't very spectacular either. The problem with the food is that, you expect so much but it's so disappointing when it tastes so mediocore.

it also came with some special sauce. i think it is beer sauce. mmmM the first time it was yummy, after that we asked for some refill as we finished and it was impossible to enjoy the dinner without the sauce ( yes, unfortunately we were very reliant on the sauce) .
So the refill came and IT WAS SO BITTER. We asked them to change it as it was too BITTER. the difference in taste from the first one was apparent. The staff said that there shouldn't be anything different with the sauce and basically there was nothing they could do about it. SO, I insisted that they do something about it, it was SO BITTER. i'm not exeggarating. the bitterness was so bad i couldn't even tell mself to ignore it. unreluctantly they went in, came out with new sauce that was still Bitter, less bitter cause they diluted it with water.

This is a mad place when you go with crazy friends.
I usually laugh non stop.
The food is solid, a meal, nothing too fancy just good food to keep you going.
The atmosphere is usually the bonus. If you go with a group or not, you will probably find yourself part of one before the night is over.

$20.00 you say? That's a pretty good price for anything these days.
