Angry Dont Dine @ Miro!!

We visited Miro on 16/04/05 for a friend’s farewell. She had under-booked & there were not enough seats to accommodate 2 extra people. Usually, the restaurant staff will do there upmost to find a solution but NOT in this restaurant. The owner rudely asked us in front of guest "what time is this??!!" as we were 20 mins late He also asked in a dirty tone if we part of the original party of had decided to turn up unannounced?? After a long wait he made room for us, very begrudgingly I might add, calling to us "come on! come on! I've made room for you but you'll have to be out soon as I’m expecting a table of eight who's seat, which were pre-booked (as if to say ours weren't) I used to fit you two in.
Within 5 mins on seating (when you are usually making introductions, saying your hello etc, we were asked my the owner 6 times!! if we were ready to order (the other guests had already placed their order). We were so upset we decided not to stay and when we informed him of this he snatched our menus from under us, huffed his head of and stormed off a few minuted later 'having a go' at our friend who had made the booking. I dine out sometime 3-4 times a week sometimes more and I have never, ever in my life been treating with such blatant disrespect. This man is in the wrong industry and perhaps should find employment where he has NO interaction with human beings. He made us feel uncomfortable and extremely upset. I do not recommend anyone dine there and support this mans wage as he obviously has enough money and does not care to make any more! If you truly love the experience of dining out and great customer service that makes you feel special and pampered, please friends, do not dine here!

Angry Miro Worst Tapas Bar In Sydney!

Sat and watched friends who had arrived a little late being treated like leppers by the owner who's attitude was disgusting and more than unprofessional. The friends ended up leaving upset within 15 mins of their arrival. oUr food hadsnt even arrived before them so they werent event that late and so what if they were. So much for hosptality. Unbelievbale! I will never dine here again!

I have now deleted a 4 of the objectionable reviews about this restaurant based on the statements made in the following post by Gailelli. Thanks Gailelli for actually signing in and identifying yourself. If people have something bad to say, I would appreciate it if they attached their name to the review, and even better if they signed up to this site, rather than just coming as guests.

From the sounds of Gailelli's following post, a number of the statements made in the posts I have deleted were incorrect, or were an extreme reaction to the situation at the restaurant.

Thumbs up In response to string of nasty reviews

After reading the string of nasty reviews, I feel obligated to post a review of my own to clarify to the readers of this forum on certain points of which the anonymous person has raised, considering the fact that I was the host for that evening for the dinner she supposedly crashed into. And by the looks of the time stamps on the multiple reviews posted, I am fairly certain they are all posted by the same person. A mere acquaintance, this anonymous person has crashed into my dinner party without any previous invitation and I have kindly asked Miro’s Owner to attempt to make room for her and her partner. Considering that it was a Saturday evening, understandably it was extremely crowded and booked out for the night. Regardless, as I was a frequent patron to this fantastic restaurant, Santi, the Owner has managed to make room for my guests. Instead of being thankful for his kind accommodating gestures, this acquaintance has been extremely rude and her lack of etiquette behavior towards him has only caused much embarrassment to herself, not to mention being deceitful about her identity as a food critic in an attempt to threaten the Owner to cause more damage.

Despite the unhappy incident, even after her departure, my friends and I have been treated with the utmost respect and good services as any good restaurant will serve their customers. This kind of treatment shows professionalism in the restaurant industry and I am very much impressed by the Owner’s attitude towards the whole incident.

I have frequent Miro at least a couple of times each month in the last 6 months since discovering it in August 2004, entertaining friends both local and international guests and has never had an incident whereby we were being rude to or have not been served well by the employees of this restaurant. This anonymous person's posting had been wilful and immature. I'd recommend rather that you (the readers) ought to go there to experience it for yourself then come back here and post your own reviews on how it really is!
