| | | I had made the unfortunate mistake of taking some clients that were here on a business visit from Europe,to a casual lunch at the Gumnut Cafe- The Rocks on Saturday 12/03/05. "BIG MISTAKE" we were extremely disappointed with the service. The waitress was totally rude and was almost barking at us when we requested stuff. To top it off, as we were leaving, she told us that they did not want us at the restaurant we were never welcome at the restaurant, anyway, and should have not come there. My clients and I was totally embarrased as other diners looked on. Rude is putting it mildly, but if you are a cat or a dog then I definately recommend this place, as You will get barked at.... |

| | | That's discusting... -___- Complete embarrasment to the restaurant world... blah blah... it sucked period! I'll never go there again, I would rather run over my own foot, reverse and do it again...
Hope you'll be a better place someday because it's not today. |

| | Very strange.
I was there with friends for a snack and we had no problems.
Guess it depends on who is working on the day?

| | Excellent Restaurant I had a completely different experience of the Gumnut to those people who said it sucked. Me & hubby went on Friday night - had no booking but waitress v. friendly and said she'd move us to a better table if the people who'd reserved didnt show up within half an hour of their booking time. We realised it was a BYO and asked where the nearest beer shop was and were directed to it. The tea garden looks lovely at night - all lit up with lanterns and candles, plus there was an accordian player in the corner, who thankfully stayed put whilst playing (very professional) I hate it when musicans come crowd around your table. Hubby returned with booze and waitress moved us to a better (warmer) position as promised as the booking hadnt turned up. I had the mushroom risotto for my main and he had the salmon on potato gratin. Both meals were fabulous, and I thought pretty reasonably priced for a tourist area although it was a long-ish wait for the main (the starters turned up pretty quickly) The waitress (apparently daughter of the owner) was friendly and chatty and helpful when we asked if she knew the location of the venue we were heading for. I'd definately recommend it. |

Don't you find it interesting that the negative people are usually adding as "Unregistered Guest"
